Agatha's Birthday Sets

Anita is an editor extraordinaire and caring daughter! Anita's mom, Agatha, is a golf fanatic, so a golfing set was natural. I heard that she had actually achieved getting a hole in one before. That is quite an amazing feat, in fact, they had a party for it too. So, I made a set showing Agatha from tee-off to the green.

Notice the yellow tee and all the divot holes (from previous golfers). The fairway passes a pond with the inattentive duck. Then, extends past some trees...

Finally, passes the sand trap and into the hole!
By the way, click here to see the whole album of photos. I went snap happy...

"What else? What else?" you ask. Well, Agatha is born in the Year of the Pig. She's very proud of her zodiac animal. I hope it brings her lots of good fortune.
Pig tail!

"More, more!" you scream. Okay, Agatha has recently been travelling - she loves cruises! Notice all the correct steps. You need to pack your luggage. Hop on a plane. Relax on the cruise as you past by islands (that have turtles sunbathing).
Have a wonderful birthday Agatha!
Fun fact: Agatha and my dad have the same birthday!

CCBB Cupcakes

This next dozen is for my aunt's boss' wife, Linda, a breast cancer survivor and golf enthusiast. Linda also started up CCBB, which began as a hobby and soon became a successful business. Linda makes beautiful jewellery in which 50% of her profits are donated to York Region Breast Cancer Friends. Since January 2005, she has already donated more than $90,000! Please visit her website http://www.lindaccbb.com/ to see her breast cancer awareness jewellery.

CCBB and Hope plaques made from fondant!
Vanilla buttercream and chocolate cupcakes!

Pink fondant breast cancer ribbon. We also made fondant decorations that resemble Linda's pretty bracelet charms. My aunt bought me the bracelet last Christmas!

Pink fondant rose on vanilla buttercream and chocolate cupcake.

Rainbow of hope!

Pink fondant heart laying softly on vanilla buttercream.

Ribbon rose!

Green vanilla buttercream, yum!

We dedicated a third of the cupcakes to her love of golfing. We made a golf club, golf tee, golf ball, and golf green out of fondant. I finally got to try my grass tip (yay) with the green buttercream!

Golf Green Cake

A family friend - who is an avid golfer and greens keeper at a golf course - turned a year older yesterday. To commemorate, we made a banana cake decorated with a golf's green. The birthday boy was genuinely surprised and only made a tiny "professional" comment: "in our circles, that would be called fertilizer burn, not a sand pit." At least we know better now, for improvements in the future!

Overview of the cake!

Hole #19 is the club house! Dig in and eat!

Check out the sand pit or "fertilizer burn."

Happy Golf-Cake Birthday!
